Vyne Replaces Fax with ETHERFAX

As a market leader in healthcare communication and information exchange, Vyne develops technologies that manage all types of structured and unstructured data including images, documents, voice files, and faxes. Through its centralized platform,  Vyne  Medical, hospitals and medical providers can improve financial performance, service levels, team collaboration, and patient care.

For Vyne, providing customers with a secure, centralized database that connects disparate data is critical. Their solutions not only affect business processes, they affect people’s lives.

No Room for Failure

As the most trusted document delivery method available today, hospitals, physicians, pharmacies, and insurance companies rely on fax to manage patient information. Despite it being their primary communications method, many healthcare organizations still leverage traditional fax infrastructure which is outdated, unreliable, and difficult to support.

Since these organizations simply cannot afford to experience any technical issues or network downtime, Vyne knew that legacy network solutions, such as those that rely on expensive telephony equipment and the PSTN, had to be replaced with a better alternative. Slow transmissions of low-resolution documents, for example, could severely affect medical diagnoses. In healthcare, there is no room for failure.

Fax for the Modern Era

With 18 million documents transmitted each year, Vyne needed a secure and reliable document delivery system that could support a high-volume of secure fax transmissions and evolve as technology changes. After evaluating several fax solutions,  Vyne determined that ETHERFAX’s hybrid-cloud technology not only supported its needs but also aligned with its vision to modernize the healthcare ecosystem.

By extending its solutions to the ETHERFAX cloud-based network, Vyne’s customers can now securely send documents to any of ETHERFAX’s connected endpoints with ultra-fast transmission speeds, advanced encryption, and guaranteed delivery. The ETHERFAX Secure Exchange Network (SEN)  enables Vyne to exchange faxes and other business-critical information with HIPAA and PCI DSS compliance while DirectFax™  via  ETHERFAX  SEN guarantees that communications never traverse an external telephone network.

The ETHERFAX API, a web interface based on REST semantics, enabled Vyne to integrate fax and document delivery services into their applications quickly and seamlessly.  As a scalable and highly available service, the ETHERFAX API also allows Vyne to send and receive a high volume of faxes  within seconds.

“The ETHERFAX API allows our clients to seamlessly migrate from legacy fax platforms to the cloud,” said Tim Hoskins, Director of Solutions Architecture at VYNE Medical. “With ETHERFAX SEN, we have transitioned away from traditional faxing, in terms of speed and image quality. Last year, we transmitted 150 million pages for our healthcare clients alone.”

Through the partnership, Vyne  Medical has significantly improved revenue cycles by reducing claim denials, reducing turnaround time on record requests, and sending supporting documentation fast and securely. Today,  Vyne  Medical has partnerships with nearly 600 active hospitals and health systems.

The successful integration has allowed  Vyne  and  ETHERFAX  to improve patient care  and redefine fax for the modern era.
