The Cloud Is Fueling Business Innovation

Jul 01, 2014

Today’s InnovateThink article explores several CIO’s thoughts on using the cloud in IT operations. Doing so reduces time spent on maintenance, freeing up time for new projects and initiatives. Our unique perspective on cloud technology supports this, especially in reference to secure data communications.

Cloud technology is driving innovation. In a survey of 100 CIOs, 48 percent spent more than half their time maintenance projects. Doing so reduced their ability to pursue innovations the business wanted or needed. CIOs that spent only 20 to 40 percent of their resources on maintenance relied heavily on the cloud, standardizing operations and streamlining workflow.

Secure technology like ETHERFAX SEN has mitigated the feeling that communication through the cloud increases risk for business and healthcare. This coupled with the emerging need for business to respond quickly to a changing environment and the cloud’s lower cost has made the risk of not adopting cloud technologies greater than the risks of doing so. In TechTarget’s fall survey of 830 IT leaders, 45 percent said their reason for adopting the cloud was not about cost but about responding to business need, a change from previous statistics that cited 70 percent were based on cost reduction.

Based on the high volume of pages ETHERFAX processes daily, we are enabling healthcare providers and enterprise organizations to leverage the cloud for secure data transport while enabling them to scale their operations and mitigate risk.
