Scott Riley, President of Novaris Communications, has over 30 years of experience contracting and provisioning fax technologies and integrations. These fax applications and integrations include RightFax, Epic, TargetFax, MHK, Lexmark, ERIS, Office 365 (Mail and SharePoint), custom applications, and many more back-end systems. With recent mandates to the cloud, projects include deployments within Azure, AWS, GCP, and private cloud infrastructures.
In addition to Novaris, Scott is Founder and Managing Director of One Touch Global Technologies, a nationally recognized fax server integrator and workflow solutions provider. With its One Touch Integration Server (OTIS), fax processes can be automated and integrated into third-party systems. Healthcare, insurance, and financial services organizations utilize OTIS to manage document classification, data-entry, routing, processing, and archiving of fax documents and PDF’s more efficiently, while reducing administrative errors, manual labor, and turn-around times. Ultimately, OTIS automates and simplifies workflows with improved management oversight.

ETHERFAX WEAVE uses Microsoft’s Cognitive Services to extract and digitize data from a range of unstructured documents and forms, thus streamlining workflows and eliminating manual entry.
Through the integration, OTIS is optimized to complete the end-to-end lifecycle of document exchange as well as automate document classification, separation, data extraction, and workflow queues for user tasks and quality control. One Touch Global is also successfully integrated to EPIC with its One Touch Epic Connector Application for inbound faxing, enabling healthcare organizations to receive protected health information (PHI) with end-to-end encryption and ultra-fast transmission speeds.
OTIS Epic Integration – How it Works
For inbound faxes, OTIS allows EPIC customers to intelligently deliver faxes into Epic InBasket, and subsequently complete the many actions traditionally performed manually. OTIS helps administrative staff split inbound faxes into single documents and classify relevant data about patients and providers within one single user interface. Document classification and data extraction can be further enhanced with ETHERFAX WEAVE.
Once the documents are classified, they can be routed to the intended Epic users (providers, RNs, MAs, user pools, etc.) by leveraging the Epic InBasket message board. Within InBasket, a provider is notified of every inbound document needing attention and action, with the proper link to the patient record within Epic. From the message notification itself, within Epic, the provider can securely and directly invoke the One Touch Epic Connector Application to review the document and decide which follow-up actions need to be taken. Those actions include e-signing, adding pre-built annotations or free text annotations to the underlying document, forward faxing to pre-programmed numbers, uploading documents appropriately tagged to your OnBase DMS, and more.
