Today arguably sets the tone for the upcoming college football season. It’s National Signing Day!
According to Wikipedia, National Signing Day is usually the first Wednesday of February – the first day that a high school senior can sign a binding National Letter of Intent for college football with an NCAA-based institution.
And guess what technology is commonly used to send and receive these committals? That’s right – fax.
On National Signing Day, fax machines are working overtime at all the major schools, from Auburn and the University of Miami to Stanford and Washington State.
So when you are enjoying your favorite team play this fall on Saturdays or hailing the BCS National Championship trophy in January, remember the crucial role fax played.
