ETHERFAX vs. Traditional VoIP and FoIP Solutions [Infographic]

Oct 28, 2014

ETHERFAX provides an alternative to traditional VoIP and FoIP fax servers. As an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution, our fax transport provides secure document transport via the cloud, reducing capital expenditures (CapEx) and ongoing maintenance costs, and increasing reliability and scalability.

Disaster Recovery. Unlike traditional VoIP and FoIP fax servers, ETHERFAX has built-in redundancy and business continuity architecture to effectively eliminate downtime in the event of an outage or disaster. Supporting multiple carriers reduces any single point of failure, enabling ETHERFAX to maintain high availability and scalability at all times.

Zero Maintenance &Upgrades. As an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution, ETHERFAX provides a fully-managed transport service, eliminating the need for costly and complex fax connectivity, such as drivers, gateways, T.38 and PRI lines, and other telephony equipment.

High Availability & Performance. With ETHERFAX, fax transmissions never experience a busy signal. Whereas traditional services can sometimes drop faxes and still charge for the connection time, ETHERFAX ensures a reliable transmission and only charges for pages that are successfully sent and received.

Maintain Existing Fax Environments. Providing a transport service, ETHERFAX supports existing on-premise fax servers and fax numbers, preserving the integrity of business workflow and the user experience. In addition, users have access to ETHERFAX’s administrative portal that provides reporting and tracking capabilities for all fax communications.

Commitment. Traditional VoIP and FoIP solutions require multiple vendors to manage, expensive telephony infrastructure costs, and contractual commitments in addition to the use of PRI and T1 lines.

ETHERFAX offers a transaction-based pricing model allowing customers to pay for pages that are transmitted – without any long-term contracts. Leveraging the cloud for transport, ETHERFAX eliminates long-distance or toll charges and provides an infinitely scalable solution to keep pace with growth.
