ETHERFAX Receives New Patent for Secure Fax Communications

Holmdel, New Jersey (October 25, 2018) – ETHERFAX today announced a fourth U.S. patent for their fax solution which utilizes the Internet to transport fax communications. The ETHERFAX Remote FAX Interconnect securely transmits business-critical information and unstructured data via HTTP(S) based on cloud computing infrastructure. Supporting every major fax server, application and fax-enabled device, ETHERFAX has more connected endpoints providing end-to-end encryption than any other service.

The ETHERFAX Secure Exchange Network (SEN) is the world’s largest fax network, leveraging military-grade encryption and hybrid cloud technology to provide secure communications within healthcare, finance, legal, and enterprise organizations. ETHERFAX SEN is both HIPAA compliant and PCI DSS compliant. In addition to the Secure Exchange Network, ETHERFAX SENx brings end-to-end encryption to subscribers through ETHERFAX’s APIs using methods defined by the Elliptic Curve Integrated Encryption Scheme (ECIES), allowing you to send faxes over the internet.

“Our patented technology redefines fax communications for the modern era,” said Robert Cichielo, CTO of ETHERFAX. “Security is a priority, and we are committed to developing new methods for organizations to transport sensitive documents. ETHERFAX leverages multiple defense-in-depth strategies including two-factor authentication, end-to-end encryption, and in-network routing to guarantee that patient data and business-critical information remain protected.”

Expanding on their existing technology portfolio, ETHERFAX’s fourth U.S. patent, Systems and Methods Using Policy Attribute Information for Content Transfer (No. 10091366), provides systems with the ability to determine capabilities about the destination prior to sending a document. Therefore, the application can choose to use the best mutual capabilities between the sender and the receiver. The ETHERFAX Remote FAX Interconnect implements the virtualization of fax systems and enables remote aggregation of a physical fax device to manage and control transmitted data. As a proprietary, real-time encrypted communication transport between fax servers and the ETHERFAX data center, the ETHERFAX communications protocol (ECP) ensures 100 percent reliability.

In addition to the ETHERFAX core services, ETHERFAX toolkits and application programming interfaces (APIs) are available which allow system and application developers to rapidly integrate their applications with the ETHERFAX network enabling secure document delivery. Disaster Recovery (DR) is built for business continuity and ensures zero downtime during technical failures, catastrophic events or natural disasters.
