ETHERFAX Expands Datacenter Operations to Canada, Providing Financial Services and Healthcare Organizations with Secure Fax Communications and Data Sovereignty

Marlboro, NJ (November 5, 2013) – ETHERFAX, LLC today announced the launch of its newest datacenter in Toronto, addressing the growing demand for cloud-based fax services in Canada. As many of the world’s largest banking, financial services and healthcare organizations reside in Canada, ETHERFAX has extended its services to the region, allowing customers to allocate or port their existing Canadian-based fax numbers. In addition to concerns over privacy and data security, data sovereignty continues to become a rising concern for many organizations. To address these concerns, ETHERFAX allows each customer to determine how their sent and received faxes are processed through the ETHERFAX network.

“Our new data sovereignty features allow customers to control how their fax and telephony traffic flows through our network,” explained Robert Cichielo, ETHERFAX’s CTO. “This means that customers can choose to have their data remain within their country of origin or permit routing to other portions of the ETHERFAX network around the globe.”

The addition of the Toronto datacenter is part of an aggressive growth plan that is driven by organizations moving toward hybrid fax transport solutions to send and receive cloud faxes.  ETHERFAX’s patent-pending technology leverages the Internet to manage incoming and outgoing fax communications, while offering the reliability and efficiency normally associated with traditional telephony systems. Working with most popular fax server manufacturers, ETHERFAX removes the need for costly components such as fax boards, media gateways and FoIP drivers. It also eliminates recurring telephony expenses such as T1, PRI and analog circuits.

“ETHERFAX has experienced tremendous growth over the past several years by providing simple, reliable, and economical fax/content delivery through the ETHERFAX network,” Cichielo added. “Our competitors continue to suffer from their inability to provide services to countries like Canada nor can they offer the levels of security and compliance customers demand. To most large organizations, lack of security and compliance is completely unacceptable.”

ETHERFAX is currently in the final stages of achieving its PCI Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) Level 1 certification, further validating the company’s commitment to customers requiring such levels of compliance. This certification is the highest required for service providers and will be available across all datacenters, including the cloud healthcare center in Toronto.

ETHERFAX’s datacenter is located in Canada’s largest carrier hotel, offering interconnections with global enterprises and electronic trading platforms. In addition to providing a strategic hub for enterprise customers to support their fax communications transport, ETHERFAX’s Toronto datacenter is also available for colocation services.
