Every time I depart from the HIMSS conference, I find myself thinking it was our most successful yet. But this time, I am confident in saying it wasn’t just the best; it also solidified my belief that ETHERFAX is on the right path. Apart from a few meetings, I spent my entire time at our HIMSS24 booth. It was enlightening to discuss the widespread workflow issues related to fax technology.
This year’s event might have been smaller in scale, regarding both vendors and attendees, yet it attracted exactly the audience we hoped to engage with. The dominance of AI as a theme was unmistakable, and in light of the recent Change Healthcare Breach, topics like security and redundancy were at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Engaging with about 30-40 individuals, the conversations overwhelmingly revolved around the concept of FLOW, with only a couple touching on fax and telephony. I’m a firm believer in the power of live demonstrations over static screenshots and presentations; seeing our solutions in action always leaves a lasting impression.
A notable first for me was witnessing Boston Cartwright from Vasion perform an integration with our API live in our booth! Additionally, I’m immensely proud of our support for the ADAM missing children program through our partnerships with Lexis Nexus, Ingenium Software, and FaxCore.
The creativity on display at HIMSS 2024 was inspiring, and a brainstorming session with our Creative Director, Sarah, opened up numerous possibilities for HIMSS 2025. One notable observation was the evident disdain for fax within the industry, humorously highlighted by Surescripts’ t-shirts proclaiming, “I love to fax, said no one ever. #FaxLessFuture.” It’s a clear indicator of fax’s lingering presence in healthcare, but it also presents an opportunity for us at ETHERFAX to pave the way towards a #FaxLessFuture.
Surescripts, we can help!
